Passionate about Talent Development and a global speaker whose ideas have been featured on CNN, BBC World News, the United Nations and many more, Michael Teoh is regarded as a strategist and thought-leader in grooming talents in companies and universities internationally. He served clients like Microsoft, Intel, Bursa Malaysia, various government ministries and universities across 32 countries in talent development training and initiatives. He received his education from New Zealand, before furthering his studies to Stanford University and INSEAD on entrepreneurship. He is also an invitee to share his thoughts during his university days on the matters of international relations with Harvard University.
Recognized as a Malaysia Book of Records Holder for having led a global expedition to 22 countries and impacting more than 300,000 lives through his humanitarian and social entrepreneurship projects with governments and companies in 2011, Michael is also honoured as Malaysia's National Youth Icon by the Prime Minister and has had his work endorsed by the New Zealand Prime Minister during his university days. He currently serves as a Board Member in the National Student Volunteers Foundation owned by the Malaysian Ministry of Education with its patron, the Deputy Prime Minister. He is also an awardee of PRESTIGE's Top 40 Under 40 Awards for Malaysians. He was also awarded the prestigious World Youth Traveller Awards at the World Youth Travel Awards in Barcelona, Spain and was recognized as one of the world's leading enterprising youth by the Global Entrepreneurship Week in 2011.
On a global level, Michael Teoh is also the Honorary Advisor for Youth In Economics & Entrepreneurship Development for the World Youth Parliament based in Geneva, Switzerland, and directly reports to the President- elect himself. He is also recognized as a Golden Key Honorary member for Malaysia, joining the ranks of other luminaries including several US-Presidents and renowned corporate figures in the global level. He is also listed on Speakers’ Bureaus in Moscow and London.
He is also a columnist with the New Straits Times and Kwong Wah Yit Poh, where he shares about strategies for talent development and volunteerism. He is the co-author for the Potential MatrixTM book on the formula for achieving success, doing the things you love!
He served as a Judge for Malaysia’s social innovation competition (Challenge.my) organised by the Agency for Innovation (AIM) under the Prime Minister’s Office, offering a startup capital of more than USD $50,000 for the
development of social solutions to communities. He is also a Reality Show Judge on TV3 for the Big DRE1M by 1M4U (An initiative offering RM100,000 for Malaysians to implement social ideas benefiting the country).
Now a serial entrepreneur with businesses in the digital publishing, training and project management fields, Michael and his partners have worked with clients like Standard Chartered, Alliance Bank, The Star, Sime Darby, General Electric to name a few in their business ventures. Michael sits on the National Youth Consultative Council appointed by the Minister of Youth & Sports, the Founding Curator's Team for TEDxKL in Malaysia, advisor to the World Youth Government in Geneva and the Executive Chairman of the Junior World Entrepreneurship Forum from France in Malaysia. He currently consults a few startups as well in the education, public safety, online media, food & beverage and tourism industries.
